Each committee has a specific focus area, and participants work to define frameworks that ensure optimal performance for all services, both new and existing. The primary outcome of the specialized committees’ work is to establish technical standards and guidelines (recommendations). Many of these experts represent competitive business interests, but within the Afro-Asian context, they set aside competition for the sake of collaboration in developing systems, exchanging best practices, and formulating principles and guidelines that serve the interests of trade as a whole.
